MISSION OUTREACH
St. James embraces the philosophy of mission, adopted by the
Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America, which proclaims God's saving Gospel "by
reaching out to all people to bring them to Christ and by doing all
ministry
with a global awareness consistent with the understanding of God as
Creator,
Redeemer, and Sanctifier of all."
St. James personalizes this philosophy through "Link Our
Congregation
with a Missionary," as individual members support missionaries with
prayer and financial contributions on a 365-day schedule.
St. James participates in the life of our community. We
support
clothing
drives, conduct food drives, and have an ongoing collection of food for
the Hancock County Food Pantry. Every Thursday members of the
congregation
deliver meals to Greenfield citizens through the Meals on Wheels
program.
